WHO IS JOHN MONTESANTE?
A driven and many-faceted artist of phenomenal creative energy, John Montesante first came to national attention in Australia as a singular Jazz Musician and Arranger in his twenties. Playing Trumpet, Flugel and Keyboards, he next founded Australia’s pre-eminent 14 piece Soul-RnB outfit "Grand Wazoo— Kings of Soul" in 1981, while retaining his abiding passion for Jazz. Then he introduced his 40s-60s Big Band, JM''s "Café Society Orchestra," and in 1990, formed his Jazz Quintet, originally called "Workin and Steamin''. Earlier in his music career, he was known by the stage name ''John Santos'', returning to his birth name, ''Montesante'' in the mid-1990s
