Tango … Milonga … Habanera … Waltz
Ruth Roshan & Tango Noir bring you the atmosphere of a 1930''s French Salon with intense instrumental and vocal tango. Laden with flair, elegance and sauciness, this musical rendezvous is guaranteed to provide fiery distraction and take you on a journey into the thrilling musical world of the tango.
The tango originated in lower-class districts of Buenos Aires (Argentina). It was the music and dance of an underclass - the dispossesed and the outcast. It is a fusion of various musical forms from Europe. In the early years of the twentieth century, dancers and orchestras from Buenos Aires and Montevideo travelled to Europe, and the first European tango craze took place in Paris, soon followed by London, Berlin, and other capitals.
Tracks include fresh arrangements of pieces by Piazzolla, Leonard Cohen and Macy Gray, plus original additions to the genre by Ruth Roshan. Ruth Roshan & Tango Noir presents the tango, with exceptional, award winning musicians.
