Details:
Randy Chance started learning the accordion at age six, against his will. Skipping ahead slightly, he’s toured in bands, worked on films, TV shows and jingles as guitarist, composer and engineer. You can visit his website (https://www.tradebit.com) and click on the “Resume” button, if you want all that namedropping stuff (Who I’ve Worked With, etc.).

He grew up originally in Chicago, which probably gives him his love of blues and roots’ rock (“Yeah, you sound like you’re from Chicago, alright” – “I was actually trying to sound English”).

He’s lived in Southern California long enough to develop a Studio Tan (no tan at all – for those who don’t get it). His tastes and influences are varied: Lots of fifties, sixties and seventies rock, blues, all kinds of folk music, and he’s been very inspired by the possibilities of sound construction. He has a “rootsy” side and a “hi-tech” side, and both come out in his music. There’s also still the accordion, somewhere, there, in the back of his mind.

This album, "Icarus Landed" is all about the "hi-tech" side. It was composed entirely on the computer by Randy. It shows his love of electronic music, sound construction and sonic landscapes. Some of these pieces were conceived, composed and produced using nothing but a laptop with software, a pair of headphones and a mouse.
