Dulahan (Pronounced Doo-la-hon) is an Ohio based celtic Band featuring powerful vocal harmonies and well crafted original material that blends the traditional and contemporary celtic sound seamlessly . Thier self titled debut release showcases the songwriting and vocal strengths of this foursome with the infectious humor of the pub tunes, to the wistful imagery of the maritime and historical pieces . Dulahan is led by singer / songwriter Kyle Aughe on lead vocals , guitar and banjo and harmonica . Multi-instrumentalist /vocalist Dan Weber on guitar , bodhran, harmonica and Highland and Scottish Small pipes , Mark Sandlin on vocals,percussion , Irish Bouzouki and Mandolin, and Leo Butler on Whistles , Flutes and Uillean Pipes rounds out the group .DULAHAN
With each member of the band playing multiple instruments and singing, Dulahan has the ability to reenergize old classics and at the same time uniquely brand their own original sound.
The fresh new sound they have created pays homage to the classic artists of the genre while subtly incorporating contemporary vocal harmony arrangements.
This hybrid sound has allowed Dulahan to connect with fans of traditional Celtic music along with listeners new to the energy , emotion and history of this music .
Their original music remains the strength and core of the Dulahan sound but the band loves to mix in the classic pub favorites , sea shanties , ballads, and a regular dose of the rousing rebel songs that are all an integral part of the Dulahan experience .
PERFORMANCES
Dulahan has delighted audiences throughout Southwest Ohio since the band formed in 2001. They have performed in a host of venues in the Dayton, Ohio area including the Dublin Pub, Canal Street Tavern, Gillys and Bostons Bistro among others. The band has appeared at Byrnes Pub in Columbus, Ohio and Jack Quinns Pub in Covington, Kentucky in addition to regular shows at Molly Malone’s Pub in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The band has been featured at a host of regional festivals including the annual Dayton Celtic Festival ( 2002 thru 2006) , The Dublin Irish Festival Emerald Isle Acoustic Stage ,(2004 & 2005) ,Dayton Oktoberfest, Springfield Culture Fest , Franklin Heritage Days Festival and many others .
In March 2006 Dulahan headlined at the Springfield Arts Councils Creative Connections Concert Series at the Clark County Heritage Center .In August the band performed for the first time in concert at Kettering , Ohio’s prestigious Fraze Pavilion Amphitheatre .
In addition to headlining , Dulahan has opened shows for nationally known act Gaelic Storm , California based Celtic rockers Tempest , west coast act The Fenians .regional favorites The Elders and Flannigan’s Isle and the Irish traditional instrumental powerhouse Teada.
Whether headlining or sharing the stage with other talented groups audiences find Dulahans music powerful and engaging.
RECORDINGS/ AIRPLAY
The band released its debut CD, the self titled Dulahan, in 2003. This initial compilation featured 13 original Celtic compositions written by the band.
The follow-up release , 2005’s Not Against My Own further highlighted the groups songwriting abilities with 14 new original offerings .
Dulahans 3rd CD , THE BLINK OF AN EYE, released in June 2007 continues the evolution of the Dulahan sound again within the context of new material composed exclusively by the band members .
Dulahans music from both their first and second CD projects has received regular regional airplay on the two weekly Celtic music radio shows in the greater Dayton Ohio Market

Kyle Aughe
Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Harmonica
Kyle is the primary lead vocalist and songwriter in Dulahan.
His clear tenor voice and driving rhythm guitar work shape the bands sound.
With a background dominated by acoustic music, he has performed solo , with the acoustic folk band Green River and the acoustic – electric band Bramble .
Dulahan , like Kyle’s other musical projects , has the stamp of his signature songwriting abilities along with generous amounts of multi- part harmonies dominating the sound .
Kyle’s creative Celtic songwriting draws on influences from the Clancy’s and The Irish Rovers to Andy Stewart and Tommy Sands. Kyle’s original compositions meld seamlessly with the classic Celtic tunes in the bands repertoire.
Dan Weber
Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Scottish Small Pipes, Bodhran, Highland Pipes, Spoons,
Dan’s strong tenor harmony vocals are a key component in the vocal energy created in Dulahans music.
His lead vocal interpretations of Dulahan originals or pub classics contain respect for the traditional sound and are often infused with his infectious humor.
Dan’s instrumental virtuosity on a variety of instruments allows the band to create a multitude of Celtic musical moods and stylings.
His driving rhythmic bodhran playing and powerful highland pipe sets are fan favorites at live performances
Dan comes by his love for acoustic music honestly as his parents were folk music performers.
Leo Butler
Flute, Irish Whistles, Vocals
Leo is natural fit for Dulahan, growing up in a household where traditional Irish music was a staple.
.Raised on the Clancy Brothers” classics , he brings a perfect insight and traditional perspective when the band is offering up their own versions of an old pub favorite or a rowdy rebel song .
His melodic Irish Whistle and Flute lines are the dominant instrumental sound throughout Dulahans original music.
Leo captures the variety of moods within Dulahans music with haunting low whistles and flutes stylings on the ballads and airs and powerful , driving whistle lines on the bands high energy tunes .Leo has added the Uillean Pipes to his growing list of instruments and is featured on these traditional Irish pipes on the closing track of the bands new CD on the song THE OLD COUNTRY WALES
A capable singer in his own right, Leo regularly joins the boys vocally to add a forth vocal part.
Mark Sandlin
Mandolin, Djembe, Irish Bouzouki, Percussion, Guitar, Vocals
A talented multi-instrumentalist and singer, Mark adds key layers and textures to Dulahans music. His vocal harmonies and tasteful instrumentation and musicianship accentuate Dulahans original sound.
A veteran of regional bands Little Maggie and The Sky Kings, Mark has been actively involved with music since his elementary school days.
Mark is also an experienced audio /recording engineer. He performed the studio engineering duties on the first and second Dulahan CD projects and is handling the dual role of musician / engineer in the studio on the current Dulahan CD project THE BLINK OF AN EYE released in June of 2007
