Details:
Cody Walden is a 23 year old songwriter/storyteller from Hinesville, Georgia. His love for music developed at an early age listening to artists such as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Don Williams. As a young boy Cody would often mimic his heroes and their live performances with an old guitar given to his mother by Cody''s late grandfather. In the 4th grade Cody and a close friend entered the Joseph Martin Elementary School Talent Show and performed the Garth Brooks hit "Rodeo". Cody said "me and my buddy Ryan wanted to appear as Garth and Ty England for the performance. We each had an electric guitar and a big ol'' cowboy hat that we bought at a local flea market. I know we looked rediculous, but we had a good time..." As Cody matured and navigated his way through middle and high school he enjoyed and studied the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, The Allman Brothers, and The Marshall Tucker Band. He credits his father for turning him on to these groups. After graduating from Liberty County High School in 2004, Cody enrolled at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia. The Saturday before classes started Cody and a two friends were caught by the campus police with a cooler full of ice cold beer. Since the trio were only 18 they were each charged with possesion of alcohol by a minor and taken to the Tift County Jail for the night. Soon after, Cody sat down and wrote "Caught", a funny, factual song, about a campus police officer and the events of that crazy night. The catchy tune quickly caught on around campus and a songwriter was born! Cody teamed up with friend and fellow musician Chad Carter and formed the group "Georgia Pine". The duo presented their own unique mix of classic covers and orginal songs at parties, bars, and events around South Georgia. After completing ABAC, Cody enrolled at Georgia Southern University where he continued to hoan his skills songwriting and playing guitar with other aspiring artists. It was during this time that Cody wrote "Small Town Memory", "Back in the Day", "Country Girl", "East of the Interstate", "Ludowici", and many more. Cody will complete Georgia Southern University in December and plans to make the leap to Nashville soon after. His debut album "Songs, Stories, and Bold Face Lies" is sure to impress and give insight into the life of a genuine country boy. Enjoy!
