Sherry Winston
Sherry Winston is a Jazz Flutist who handles all of the bookings, negotiating and management of her band. She has performed in many of the major concert halls throughout the U.S. including Carnegie Hall, Constitution Hall, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Sherry performed at The White House for President and Mrs. Clinton during their last holiday party, and for former President George H.W. Bush at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC.
She has appeared on the #1 cooking show "Emeril Live," and has been a featured guest on The Today Show, BET TV, Live at Five, VH1 and many other TV shows nationally.
Sherry has been featured in the New York Times, Ebony, Essence, Black Enterprise, Savoy, Odyssey Couleur, More and other national magazines and newspapers.
Sherry’s debut CD “Do It for Love,” went to #1 on the BRE and Black Recording Excellence chart. “Love Madness,” was top 10 at Billboard, Top 5 at R&R, the Gavin and MAC reports.
Sherry has produced and written music for all of her 6 CD''s. Her 4th CD, "Life is Love & and Love is You," charted in Billboard Magazine, and features the late Grover Washington, jr., Saxophonist, Najee, Guitarist, Norman Brown, Keyboard Wizard Bobby Lyle, and Vocalist Jon Lucien.
Sherry and the band has also performed for many of the top Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Anheuser Busch, Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, General Electric, Federal Express, IBM, Xerox, Bristol Myers, United Technology, Johnson & Johnson, Verizon Wireless, Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Bank, Burger King, Time Warner and many others across the U.S. and abroad.
On the business side, Sherry worked as National Director of Jazz Promotion at Columbia, Arista, GRP and Elektra-Asylum Records.
Sherry has opened for Sinbad, Fourplay, Denise Williams, Ramsey Lewis, Chaka Kahn, Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle, Grover Washington, jr. She has appeared on the same show with Ronnie Laws, Kirk Whalum, "Pieces of a Dream, Roy Haynes, Norman Connors, Jean Carne, Jeff Lorber, Norman Brown, Diane Reeves, Alex Bugnon and many others. She has also performed with Roberta Flack, Flutists Hubert Laws at Carnegie Hall and Herbie Mann at the world famous Village Gate in NYC.
Some of Sherry’s awards include nomination for the NAACP “Image Award,”1989; the prestigious “Eubie Blake Award’ selected by Billy Taylor, 1991; Pathways for Youth, 1991; “Howard University Alumni Award 1984 and 1989,” Ct Business & Professional Women’s “Sally Award, 1991,” “the Serwa Award by 100 Black Women of Richmond, 1993, the Cultural Achievement Award by the National Black MBA,1996, WBLS’s “Quiet Storm Award,” Partner in the Arts, Alpha Kappa Alpha, 2001, and the Louis Armstrong Award.
Some of Sherry’s extracurricular activities include Scuba Diving, Ski Racing, Kayaking, Hiking, Golf, Swimming, Snorkeling, Mountain Biking, working out, gourmet cooking, traveling and reading.
