Details:
Some 40 years after Friar Tuck and the Monks became a western Kansas legend, the band reunited for a concert at their 2008 induction into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. It was a magical night as the band took the stage at the old Red Dog Inn in Lawrence, Kansas. After 40 years of silence, Friar Tuck’s Music Machine, was about to generate some serious wattage again. If you were there you heard the distinctive psychedelic soul sound that brought crowds together all over the Midwest in the 1960’s. If you weren’t there, this CD contains every song played by Friar Tuck and the Monks at the Induction Concert plus a bonus cut from their 45 RPM record of 1969… a slowed and extended version of “Help”. This is the version you would have heard at a Friar Tuck dance in the 60’s. The CD comes with liner notes and pictures of Friar Tuck and the Monks live onstage at the Kansas Music Hall of Fame concert. It won’t take long to see what made those crowds dance all night and come back for more. We hope you will enjoy this trip back in time. So crank it up and brace yourself. After forty years, Friar Tuck’s Music Machine is about to rock again. Don’t miss this piece of rock & roll history.
