The Laclede Quartet was founded in 1978 and has concertized extensively in the Midwest. Its members served as Artists - in - Residence at the History Museum in St. Louis, MO. There they presented classical concerts that augmented the exhibits from 1990 through 1998. In the fall of 1977, the quartet began a concert series at the St. Louis Art Museum. Since 2004 LQ has been presenting a concert series at Fontbonne University. In 2006 – 2007 they served as Artists – in – Residence at St. Charles Community College. Recently the quartet has been invited to present concerts at Maryville University. The group also presents a concert series at Eliot Chapel in Kirkwood. LQ has been a featured guest on KMOX, KFUO-FM’s chamber music series From the Garden Live, KSD, and KWMU radio. Active as private teachers, the violinists of the group were presented "Outstanding Artist/Teacher" (1996-97). The group’s 1st violinist received "Outstanding Studio Teacher" (2008) from the American String Teachers Association. LQ''s first violinist was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" in the Ritenour School District (2007). Performances by the quartet have been aired on cable TV and on St. Louis PBS Channel 9’s ETC. They have been televised on KSDK, KMOV, KTVI, KPLR, and FOX2 with featured stories on their Historical Concerts and Kids’ Concerts.
LQ has produced six CD recordings. Some of these have been used at US Foreign Embassy dinners and at The White House. Their recordings have been featured on KFUO-FM Classic 99 and have been on the Top 10 local (St. Louis) classical recordings list since their release.
