After two years (06-08) Hearts Last Surrender’s first full length album “The Ballerina” is finally complete. Love is simple in concept, but in actuality its quite complex. Our hearts have depths so vast that despite our best efforts we still come up short as we try to understand them. I write songs from the things that I’ve gone through. Mostly as a way for my heart to say the words that couldn’t ever quite come out right when I was in the moment.
This album represents a time in my life that is so unique there is nothing I know of that I can compare it to. When I close my eyes I can no longer distinguish in the reflection whether the memories are real or just a dream. It was all very brief in existence, but in those moments my life stood still. From what I’ve been told experiences like that are very rare. And in this case it has left me…changed forever.
This album was engineered and produced in Seattle WA at NW Recording under the supervision of Kevin Hodges. Final production and mixing was done down in Phoenix by Ken Mary of SonicPhish Studios. Mastered in LA by Bernie Grundman.
