Johnny Dear – Bass
One of the greatest quartet’s to ever come on the Southern Gospel scene was produced by MCA Universal Hall Of Fame member Robert Metzgar. This album of their greatest hits has become a collector’s classic. Most of you will remember the story of how the group gathered together at Houston’s, one of Nashville’s priciest restaurants at the time to celebrate the completion of the album.
The bass singer asked Mr. Metzgar, (Who paid the bill that night for all six of the boys who ate including Robert Metzgar and the driver) this question. “Robert, I would really like to order the Hawaiian steak. It might be the last time I ever get to do that.” Robert said, “Get it big boy and let’s thank God that we have the money to pay for this.” They all said Grace over their meal and just hours later the boys were in a terrible Interstate tractor trailer & bus accident that took the lives of all the band members with the exception of only one person.
Listening to this music will literally put chills on your physical body. It’s without a doubt music that will never be heard again until we gather around the Throne Eternal in Heaven. It has been said that this album is priceless for that one song, Weep Through Me O God. God is certainly doing that through this album. For further information contact:
