From the gifted hands of local studio owner, Jim Brady (Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young) The Kate Becker Project calls upon a pool of exquisite local talent to craft a jazz and r&b record inspired by, and produced by, the southwest. The songs, conceived mostly by Ms. Becker and bassist Gerald Massoud (who has since begun a successful career in Austin), sound as if you''re in a dark lounge with a cool drink, lyrics reminiscent of the beat poets. Billie Holliday''s Lover Man is the one choice standard you''ll hear amongst other well suited originals. You''ll hear Marco Rosano on melodica, Ed Delucia step in on solo guitar, Tom Walbank on his harmonica, Stuart Oliver on backing vocals, Dan Puccio riffing on the sax, Sly Slypetsky on piano, and Guitar Center manager Aaron Emery on drums. One will think Tucson is a Jazz town.
