Details:
Scott Saturday has been a musician and singer/songwriter for over 20 years. He has played extensively throughout California in both the rock and country fields, and in the mid 90s toured nationally with Curb Record''s hit country act Boy Howdy (Featuring Nashville multi-platinum songwriter Jeffrey Steele) where he played drums for a year and acted as a ‘utility man’ on guitar and piano for another year.
His other performing credits include: Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds, Jann Brown, Gene Parsons, Tommy Tutone, Norton Buffalo, Elvin Bishop, and numerous other bands around the state. A Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from San Francisco State University, gave Scott the classical foundation that underlies many of his tunes. In the late 80''s Scott''s Song "Women in Boots" was featured on Johnny Lee''s #1 Warner Brothers album ''Hey Bartender''.
From 1995 until 2005, Scott took a hiatus from performing to start a family and build a successful wholesale DVD business. It was during this time that he also earned a private pilot’s license, a life long dream. A few years later, Scott bought his first airplane, a Cessna 182 Skylane. Towards the end of 2007, it was becoming clear that DVDs were going the way of newspapers and CDs and Scott turned his attention to finance and international investment. A year and a half of hard work finally paid off and today Scott is a full time investor.
But it was in late 2004 that the purchase of a Mac computer sucked him back into music, opened the songwriting floodgates and over the next 14 months Scott penned and produced nearly two albums worth of new material. A brief thank you to Steve Jobs is in order. The songs were a hard driving mix of southern rock, traditional country, classic R+B, and pop, all wrapped around his unique storytelling and biting sense of humor.
His signature California country sound immediately attracted the attention of Nashville and in 2006 Tedd French’s Treehouse Music signed a contract with Scott to represent his songs to the Nashville country music community. In just two short years, Scott managed to re-launch his music career in the direction his heart has always leaned – songwriting.
When he’s not flying, writing and recording music, or overseeing his DVD business, Scott loves to spend time with his wife and four young children at their home in the hills outside Los Angeles, going to the beach, swimming, and just being a dad.
While Scott Saturday has acheived many successes through the years as a songwriter and touring musician, this is the first time his music has garnered serious attention as an artist. Watch for more from this multi-talented singer/songwriter/musician as he continues to build his catalogue, expand his fan base, and re-define the California country music sound.
