Hi I am Marla Jean. I am a country girl at heart as well as I enjoy singing and listening to country music. I have also enjoyed exploring ballads and a little rock as well. I write my own lyrics that express my emotions, feelings and thoughts. I keep a positive attitude through out my music, hoping to bring peace of mind and to challenge and inspire people to live life full on through a positive message. I have long lived the dream of becoming a professional singer. Recently I traveled to Nashville and recorded my first album " Marla- Jean : Live Your Dreams". The long trip from Canada to Nashville opened my eyes to new opportunities and future goals, Nashville you were so good to me!! I have been so blessed with being given the chance to be touched by musical legends such as Cher, Shania Twain, Reba, Paul Brandt, Tim Mcgraw , Wynonna, Anne Murray, Neil Diamond and George Strait to name a few. I am in awe of works by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, and the writings of Myles Davis in "A Kind Of Blue". Life is often great, then life throws a real hard ball, and music can be such a healer restoring hope. This is why I sing!! I am an independent singer and song writer focusing my music on strong lyrics, and songs that exude powerful energy. My desire as a singer is to inspire people at whatever place they are in life , be it good or bad, that they would be empowered to create a fabulous future for themselves. It is each persons own personal choice as to what we will do with what comes about in life each day.
