The Winter Sparrow is an Acoustic/Indie/Pop group from South Jersey made up of Rob Atkinson and Ryan Cassel. The group’s music began as Rob Atkinson wrote bedroom, indie, modernistic tunes. This music from his self-titled solo project became the acoustic sound and building blocks that is now called “The Winter Sparrow”. Ryan Cassel, also writing music on his own, added to this sound and helped to influence what the group has become today.
Rob and Ryan have always been friends, but once they collaborated their thoughts the picture became complete. The result of their collaborative effort is their first CD entitled “A Machine With Dreams”. The guitar duo plays light and refreshing melodies that stay with you long after hearing. Their upbeat rhythms, complemented by Atkinson’s high pitch vocals and Cassel’s mid-range floating melodies, leave the listener wanting to hear more.
