Details:
Ginny Peters. As Long As The Road. “As Long As The Road” is Ginny’s first studio recording for over twenty years and features 12 songs, 11 of which she has written or
co-written. While in the USA in 2007 to be entered into the, “American Old Time Country Music Hall Of Fame” in Anita, Iowa, she visited some friends in Nashville, Larry and Kimberley Marrs who own a recording studio in the country music capital, as well as being well known names in the music business. It was decided that Ginny should put down four of her songs while there produced by Larry. Ginny and Larry were so happy with the resulting
recordings that it was decided to complete an album. Over the last 15 months this has been done, with all the tracking, mixing and mastering being undertaken by Larry in Nashville and Ginny’s vocals being recorded in Christchurch by Arnie van Bussel at Nightshift studios. The resulting vocals being sent to Nashville via the wonders of the internet. Several of the songs on this album have been covered by other artists,
“Beyond The Reason”, by Reg Mctaggart, New Zealand and Steve Warren, USA. “Make Me One Promise”, by Rhonda Lee, Australia, Kimberly Bibb-Marrs, USA, and
Jodie Vaughan, New Zealand. “Beyond Vision”, by Kimberly Bibb-Marrs, USA and Shaza Leigh, Australia. “I Can Climb Walls”, by Rhonda Lee, Australia and Kimberly Bibb-Marrs, USA. The lyrics, to “Bruise With Every Touch” were written by Ginny’s son Callum while in his teens after a breakup with a girlfriend of the time. Callum is now married with a daughter of his own, Erin. It was Erin who at the age of three inspired the song and title track,
“As Long As The Road”. “If I Climbed Upon The Cross” spent several weeks on the, “United Kingdom Christian
Music Alliance” charts early in 2008 and “There’s No Good In Being Bad” is still on the charts at number 20 after four months, having been as high as 3. This is Ginny’s third album. The previous two, “Bluebirds Over The Mountain” and “Butterfly Wings” having been recorded in the USA in 1988 and 1985 respectively. In the intervening years Ginny has concentrated on her writing and working with her husband Errol in their publishing company, Pegasus Music, which has resulted in her songs being recorded by over forty artists around the world. Another album, “The Journey” was released in 2006 which featured 15 of her songs recorded by some of these artists. “As Long As The Road” contains songs that reflect Ginny’s view of life and things that have touched her over the years.
