Details:
They struck gold with their worldwide number one across the board hit song “Do What You Do” sung by Jermaine Jackson and in 1985 accepted the Ascap Pop Music award for that song in front of an elite audience of other winners including Stevie Wonder, Prince and Lionel Ritchie. Their popular composition “When You Talk to Me’ was recorded by the great Peabo Bryson. People Magazine touted their “versatility” while the Wall Street Journal praised their “can’t fail melodies” and the Philadelphia Inquirer deemed them “two extremely inventive songwriters”.

Collectively they have had their songs recorded by such diverse artists as The Neville Brothers, Sergio Mendez, The Lovin’ Spoonful, The Turtles, Billy Eckstine and Bernadette Peters to name a few.

Now after nearly thirty years of composing together and some twenty years since their last stellar live performance, arrives the long overdue debut CD of Dino and DiTommaso,"On The Right Track". An amalgam of Jazz,Blues, RnB, Brazilian and Soul that reveals the rich musical core that forged their unique alliance! Nine originals and one classic standard are put forth by the outstanding soul filled vocals of RALPH DINO, arguably one of the great vocalizing “sleepers” of the last quarter century.

Supported by the driving force and great feel of his partner pianist LARRY DITOMMASO and underpinned by a solid rhythm section- this impeccably recorded CD delivers mind imbedding melodies, impassioned lyrics and grooves that just won’t quit !

The grit and grind of these two veteran musicians, coupled with an old world sensitivity gas given birth to a truly honest and heartfelt work of art that explodes with emotion and energy- a creation that will reward the listener many times over and no doubt have them spreading the word !

“ON THE RIGHT TRACK” opens up with a romp down the Philly Subway line called “The Broad Street Subway” featuring Ralph Dino’s classic vocal and storytelling style, backed by the smokin’ trio led by Larry DiTommaso on piano, groovin’ Ed Wise on upright bass and the Major League “go to man” Tom Cohen on drums.

Next up is a New Orleans foot tapper, “ You Can’t Take It With You”, sharing bits of philosophy about life and money that dares you not tap yo’ feets ! The great Andy Lalasis plays bass on this one.

Then we have “ Clint Eastwood Movies” sung by Larry DiTommaso about relationships which is as cool as it is fun with it’s irresistible boogie blues groove.

Track 5 is one their most requested tunes at their concerts and club dates called “Jazz Me”, a swinging tale of a lady and her musician on the road in Basie’s band.

Then comes the alluring “Blue” that will pull you right in at the intro. This one speaks for itself.

“In My Heart of Hearts” is a grand romantic ballad in the classic Dino and DiTommaso style. This is what they are known for and you can hear it from the very first note.

Next up is the great standard “When Sunny Gets Blue” long a favorite of the guys. Listen to Ralph’s definitive vocal on this cut. It’s a grabber performed by a singer’s singer and the trio.

“Feelin’ Happy jumps right out of the gate, swinging down the highway. Larry DiTommaso, Ed Wise and Tom Cohen ride this cookin’ instrumental with a contagious feel from the word go,baby.

Closing out with their classic composition “ So Close Yet So Far”, always a crowd favorite and constant request with a story of love here and gone away that we all can remember.

Ralph and Larry have always said they were in the audience with the people with their voice and fingers on the pulse of the music. They have been gifted with a sense that what feels right to them is right for their audience. These are two Italian guys from Philly who are definitely “On The Right Track” !
