A word from David Kim:
"As a latecomer to the fold, I feel especially privileged to participate in this artistic endeavor testifying to the truth that ˜The Lord is my Shepherd." Despite success and prominence as a musician, I was long blind to my one true Audience. I suppose I could even say that all playing was in vain. But with truth came purpose, and today I play to honor Him who blessed me with His gifts. And when I play, I feel His pleasure.
Even through my years of wandering, I always cherished Psalm 23 as an oasis of comfort, green pastures and still waters for my aimless soul. So it is with much humility and sincerity that I thank Paul Jones, Music Director at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, for involving me in this opportunity to play the message of this Psalm. I also want to thank all the composers who have contributed so much of themselves to arranging the sacred music recorded on this disc; my loving and supportive wife Jane; and most of all, my Shepherd and one true Audience."
A Word from the Producer:
David Kim is one of the finest musical artists in the world today, and he plays for the glory of God. In this way and others, he is a spiritual musician not unlike the psalmist himself. The composers represented on this disc all labored to write pieces that would afford David opportunities to play church music of substance and energy, characterized by variety and nuance, and we felt privileged to do so. Mr. Kim is not only a remarkable musician but also a humble gentleman who has given much back to the church and to the community, with a special ministry to young people. We trust that this recording will be a blessing to all who hear it and that it will further the work of God''s kingdom on earth. -psj
