I have been a songwriter/singer for decades. I grew up with this gift always around me. It’s a lot of fun and work at the same time. This CD is a compilation of some earlier and many new songs that we put together for this release. My son Dallas led in the way the record flows from song to song. He liked something about all of them.
Essentially, I’m a self-taught musician and have always been driven about playing the guitar. Singing came later. To me, it’s always about finding the feel you are after, without loosing the song in the process. I have lost them before and probably will again, but with this record, “A Matter of Time”, I must say, that the essence of these songs was captured the way I felt, when the inspiration came to me.
This disc was recorded by myself and Dallas and a great engineer friend of mine. And, lest I not forget to mention, a bunch of great musicians who give this record it’s soul. All the artistic decisions were made by us not some hired producer. As I get older in years, these moments are more sacred to me as I know they will someday leave forever. So it is just a matter of time for me. It fits the moment and here it is. Please enjoy this effort that everybody poured their hearts into. Thank you from Dallas and Mitchell DuFrene.
