Details:
Dennis is a half breed (Cherokee/Scots) born in Richmond, Indiana in the early 1950s. The son of a returning US Airforce WW II veteran and a mother who was beautiful and star struck and taught dancing at Arthur Murray''s Dance Studio, Dennis was always thoroughly entertained as a child by both of his parents. His father, a good looking fellow, had cultivated a keen sense of humor after the tragedies he had witnessed during the war and along with his mother''s interests in "showbiz," Dennis was influenced by his folks to allow his fertile imagination to flourish!
Dennis lived a gypsy life, a trailer park brat moving every couple of years in order for his father to find new work as a glass fitter. As a result the family was exposed to new sites and sounds, from Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, along the Ohio River; Dennis grew up kind-a-like Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer and was weaned on Bluegrass Music by Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, Hank Williams, along with the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and the hit makers such as The Gershwin Boys, Cole Porter and of course members of the British Invasion spearheaded by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones. Finally, there were other great tune smiths such as Bruce Cockburn, just to mention one.
But that aside, Dennis was able to experience other cultures while a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He pulled port in South America, England, Europe, Asia, and Australia, which fanned his interest in the music arts. So the resulting music Dennis has recorded, as a one man band playing all instruments and performing all vocals. His work expresses his sense of caring and sharing and covers a wide spectrum of observations and concerns. He''s got "cry in your beer, love lost, country and western tunes," to laugh in your wine French Cafe expositions, not to mention spiritual rhythm and blues, and solo acoustic guitar classical pieces and even some Latin rhythms.
Having all his material copyrighted and being now able to swim with sharks, Dennis is endeavoring to persevere in his hope of being signed by a company and/or agency in order to make his music more readily available to others. This website is as good a start as any and made available here through the help of a dear friend and fellow musician who knows and believes in his friend''s musical efforts. So, we both hope we have sparked an interest in what you have read so far and enjoy the pieces of music made available for your listening pleasure.
