Dublin born singer/songwriter, Paul Kelly has recently recorded his second album entitled '' White Cow River '' in Burbank, Los Angeles. The album will be available through CD Baby by the end of 2009 and is a collection of 11 songs spanning a 15 year period of song writing (Yep, it''s a slow burner!).The songs cover a broad sweep of themes from the political and satirical to the spiritual and emotional. Paul''s latest album is being produced by Irish born and California based singer/songwriter and Led Zepagain front man, David Swan Montgomery.
Available on CD Baby now is Paul’s much loved debut album, entitled '' The Raven And The Longboat '', which was released in 2003. This album, of which only 1000 copies were produced ( now a collector''s item ! ) still receives great critical acclaim from the musicians, singers and people of North County Dublin, with several songs having already entered the local traditional repertoire. Many of the songs are inspired by the local landscape, characters and events which occurred within that region over the past few hundred years. The album was funded by Fingal County Council Arts Department and produced by ex Rock Monsters lead vocalist, Mark Guildea.
Paul lives in the beautiful seaside village of Skerries, North County Dublin and is very much a ‘local artist’, with many interests including traditional Irish music, art, folklore, ancient religions, archaeo-astronomy to mention but a few! As well as playing open-tuned guitar and song writing, Paul also composes tunes and plays uilleann pipes and whistles and is a published poet! His greatest artistic inspiration however is his workplace, Newgrange and Knowth Neolithic temples in County Meath,Ireland... the ''Spiritual Soul of Eireann'' where he works as a guide.
