About the Music:

"Love Is ..." is a collection of musical gems that reaches out through an array of musical genres: smooth jazz, cabaret, Broadway, pop, and classic standards. The mood is soothing, thoughtful, romantic at times, funny at others, and real throughout. Marilyn Zavidow sings with richness of voice and a deep understanding of what each song means at its heart.

Marilyn has included two of her originals, "Taillights" and "You''ll Be Here" in the lineup, along with songs from musical greats: Michel Legrand, James Van Heusen, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Cole Porter, Judy Collins, George and Ira Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, and Kurt Weill - to name a few.

The arrangements by Don Rebic and the musicians playing them are top notch:
Don Rebic - Piano and Orchestration, Carl Allen -Percussion, Gene Bertoncini - Guitar, Chip Jackson on Bass, Dave Schiavone - Saxophone and Flute, and Eric Wills - Special Percussion.

From Marilyn:

Love Is......Immense. When I think of all that Love is, I am in awe - so many meanings to so many people. Precious. Elusive. Evident. Intensely personal and yet a force of unimaginable power - transpersonal, transforming. Lost, found, so easy, so very hard.

How do we know it? When is it real? How do we live it, day to day? How do we find the strength to make the loving choice - with those closest to us, with everyone we touch?

Many wise and poetic souls have offered: Love is the answer - to everything. And after all these years I''ve lived, I''ve come to believe that, yes, this is true, simplistic as it seems at first. It is a comfort and a challenge.

I hope you enjoy these wonderful songs about Love. People are telling me that the CD makes them feel good and I hope you will feel that way, too. What more could I ask!

Love is ... -- well, you finish the sentence.
Marilyn
