Paperboys'' bassist Steve Mitchell steps out of his bass-player role and into the role of singer-songwriter on this great collection of original songs. Steve has been a long- time writing partner of Paperboys'' front man Tom Landa as well as the leader of his own band, Yardsale. On "Sweet Pea" Steve has created a sound that is rich and sonically warm. Aided by banjo, lap steel, acoustic guitar and bass, the songs move effortlessly from folk to Americana to bluegrass and country. If you dig Gram Parsons, Guy Clark or Jeff Tweedy, you''ll really enjoy this CD.
