Details:
Brown County Bluegrass came together in 2006 to do one song in Church. The sound was good and so the guys stuck together and began getting gigs in the area. Our Church began a building program and at the same time Brown County Bluegrass was becoming more popular among locals so we decided to record an album. All of the proceeds from this album are going to the building fund at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas.

We all agreed that the way things happened - the way we came together was a God thing and our only goal is to glorify God with our music. We took almost a year (we all have full time jobs) to record this album and although we are rookies we are proud of the music.

Mike Cloy is a PA in real life. Mike has been blessed with a voice for bluegrass and is a great guitar player. Mike feels the music when he sings and often times while on stage has to stop and deal with the chill bumps he gets up his spine.

Tim Cooper is a Computer Professor at Howard Payne University by day and will light up a mandolin by night. Rick introduced us to Tim almost by accident and since then we will not play anywhere without him. Tim can hear a tune and then play it right back at you on the mandolin - a God given talent he uses to bless those around him.

Rick Pickard works at the Hospital fixing stuff - but when he is not at work he is on his front porch (wife kicked him out of the house) playing the five string banjo. Rick has a passion to worship and it shows when he plays.

Will Carrier owns a screenprint & embroidery business and is about to celebrate twenty years in business. Will was raised on bluegrass with his dad on guitar and older brother on the five string banjo. In 2003 his dad made an
offer - Dad would by the upright bass if Will would learn it - The Carrier family has recorded 4 albums together and together they have made hundreds of what Dad would call memories.

Lance Beaumont picks with the group on occasion. Lance is not real sure about bluegrass since he is a classically trained guitarist but man what an addition he is - Lance wrote the arrangment for "Just A Closer Walk" and allowed
us to use it on this album - Thanks Lance.

Bruce Carrier has been playing the five string banjo for about thirty five years - his goal is to play it just like Earl would. That style really comes out on the album on the song "Get Up" he is smooth and clean and got a real kick out of being on the album. Thanks Bruce for you input.

Brown County Bluegrass was practicing one night for a gospel music jamboree they were scheduled to be at. During
the rehearsal the discussion was started about when we would go on stage - Mike indicated it would be when the sun went down - "We need to write a song about that" so we did - We sat down right then and penned the words and music to "When The Son Came Down" - it was an amazing moment in time. None of us are song writers so it had to be God. The song came together in about twenty minutes and we thank God for the inspiration.

The album was recorded and engineered at His Voice Recording Studios in Comanche, Texas. Thanks to Danny Bingham for all of his hard work and input.
