Details:
OGRE formed in 1999 when Ed joined forces with Ross and Will, and together they quickly wrote and recorded a 4-track demo cassette of raw, 70''s rock inspired proto-doom that garnered high praise in the underground metal and stonerrock community. In 2003, the band self-released its first full length, "Dawn of the Proto-Man," which was named Album of The Year by https://www.tradebit.com and Top 5 Debut Albums of 2003 by Chris Barnes on https://www.tradebit.com. The disc created enough buzz to get noticed by Japan''s Leafhound Records, who put out the band''s second effort, "Seven Hells" in ''06, and "Plague of the Planet" in ''08. All OGRE records have been very well received with critics and fans alike.

Listen and hear how it all got started on "Dawn of the Proto Man." Very few copies are left of this original pressing, so don''t miss out.

Here are excerpts from some reviews:

"If you are into early Pentagram/Sabbath then Ogre''s latest ''Dawn of the Proto-Man'' may very well be right up your alley. It''s definitely got a doom flavor to it from time to time but it''s mostly full of early metal/classic rock influences and high energy. The lead vocalist has a soulful melodic hard rock style that reminds me of slightly of Bobby Liebling of Pentagram at times...good catchy lyrics and just plain balls. The songwriting is pretty much classic rock rooted, but these guys have a nice added personal touch that is kind of unique. It''s drenched in Sabbath influence and late 60''s and grooves. Little one time parts and weird thrown in surprise changes from time to time make it known that these cats have been around and know what they are doing...they sound like veterans of rock without a doubt. "New England''s Ogre is vintage. Vintage Pentagram, Cirith Ungol, AC/DC, Uriah Heep and Grand Funk stuffed in a pepper grinder and sprinkled ever so lovingly over stacks of Marshall brand amplification."
