Imagine being entertained by a singer/songwriter who can charm an audience to dance the night away while delivering lyrics that touch emotional chords. Trudy Jane conjures up these feelings for listeners young and old with a brand of music that crosses boundaries.
Trudy Jane''s musical roots came from her parents who played and sang with melodic harmony that she grew to love. She was raised in a small dirt road town in Quebec, Canada. She began to sing at age six and continued over the years developing a style all her own.
When it comes to promoting songwriters, Trudy Jane is a natural. Her efforts in founding and operating The Okanagan Songwriters Showcase, based in Kelowna, have resulted in 136 shows featuring over 500 artists. As an artist promoter, her showcases have graced Kelowna Parks Alive, Fat Cat Children''s Festival, the Okanagan Regatta, a wide variety of live venues throughout the Okanagan, and numerous radio and T.V. stations.
In addition, Trudy Jane spent 18 months working with Sandy Dunkley and the BC Songwriters Association, hosting the Burnaby showcase. She has hosted and presented songwriting and business workshops and seminars featuring: John Smith (formerly of Apple Records, having worked with the Beatles, Pink Floyd and David Bowie), Don Osborne (Vancouver based music business development consultant), Ron Irving (internationally known songwriter), Jan Cooper (vocal coach) who worked with Trudy Jane.
As a writer and performer, Trudy Jane has performed at some of the biggest country venues in Western Canada.
She shared the stage with some of Canada''s finest performers, including Farmer''s Daughter, the Cruzeros, Valdy, Ron Irving and more. People see Trudy as outgoing, energy packed, vivacious, friendly, positive, professional and talented.
Her debut CD "Loving & Leavin''" just released (January/05) was produced by Barry Mathers and engineered by Curtis Tullman of the "Cruzeros". They perform on it with co-Cruzeros Jim "Pa" Ryan. Other featured artists are Scott Thielmann - lead & rhythm guitar, Jay Terrance - drums, Susan Aylard - fiddle, Rachel Matkin - backup vocals, Roger Gabriel duet on "Loving You Forever" and Mike Daly - pedal steel.
