Petal is a two person band from Salt Lake City Utah. Emily Tyndall is the lead singer and lyricist, and Andrew Braithwaite is the composer and pianist. They met serendipitously on myspace in 2007 and have collaborated to write music since then.
Andrew Braithwaite has given solo concerts of his compositions and arrangements throughout the world. His CD of his compositions and arrangements “The Power Within” is available on iTunes. He has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Utah. He was also a finalist in a competition for all of the arts in the 2006 Utah Artist''s Exposition.
Emily Tyndall, an American actress, singer, and dancer, made her acting debut in Napoleon Dynamite in 2004 under her maiden name Emily Kennard. She is constantly singing and has performed in every continent for audiences ranging from just a few hundred to thousands. Her first album was called Journey and is a compilation of classical theater pieces that Emily performed around the globe.
