Details:
The Cowbelles is a two-generation, two-family, all female acoustic band, featuring their own brand of vocal harmonies. They are based in Boise, Idaho, where they perform folk and traditional music along with original songs, serious and humorous. Although their style is largely traditional and definitely acoustic, they never hesitate to add interesting instruments to the mix. They have performed for corporate events, Post 63 of the VFW, and local coffee shops and bars, most recently at the Bouquet in downtown Boise.
The members of the band are:
Rachel Bonilla (voice, ukulele)
Terry Burkes (voice, rhythm guitar)
Roxanne Cheldelin (voice, cajon, trumpet)
Carol Mokwa (voice, banjo, clarinet)
Leslie Trail (voice, bass)
On their first album, Barbara Clickner, also of Boise, was a member of the band and played fiddle. Pinto Bennett, of Trio Pinto and Famous Motel Cowboys fame, gave The Cowbelles their first song on the album, “Blue Monday Blue.“ The Cowbelles are grateful to both for their friendship and support.
