Tiny Montgomery
Tiny Montgomery is a soul driven rock & roll band fueled by high-energy guitar, drums, and harmonica. They have a rootsy sound that mixes 60''s garage rock, soulful blues, and other folk styles (delta blues, traditional country, etc.). David Vincent (vocals, harmonica) and Greg Corbett (guitar, vocals) are the founding members of the band, meeting through a mutual friend. Sharing the same musical influences (the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Lightnin'' Hopkins, and the Velvet Underground), they started playing around. After a couple jam sessions, Greg and David began writing songs together and looked to form a band.
The group wasn''t playing long before Jazz musician and producer, Bill Hart (head of the guitar department at the Atlanta Institute of Music and founder of the acclaimed jazz trio, the Bill Hart Project) heard a rough demo of their early music. He spotted potential in the band and brought them into Hart of Sound Studios in Atlanta to record their first full-length album, "dirty street corner".
New bassist and drummer Brian Canady and Chris Arivette, respectively, have fit the band''s style remarkably well, bringing a heaviness that is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin''s earliest albums.
Two of the album''s singles, "Depths of Despair" and "This Disease" have been receiving airplay on 96wave''s "Cutting Edge" radio show. Corbett and Vincent actually appeared on the show to perform acoustically and talk about the band. The show recieved a great response and the band is expected to return for a full-out electric assault on the Charleston airwaves.
Their live performances are electrifying, capturing the true essence of their sound. You can usually catch them playing at the well respected music venue, Johnny Ola''s Anchor Café in Charleston, SC. Please email for concert dates or any other information you may need:
