Details:
Raised is a small town on the west coast Sadie always knew she would grow up to be a singer. She began singing as soon as she could speak, pretending to accompany herself on the guitar at the tender age of five. Growing up in a big family she was exposed to many styles of music from traditional country to classic rock.
Dabbling in many styles before discovering bluegrass, from jazz to opera, Sadie had the emotional content and story telling side of a song down, but it wasn''t until she heard The Del McCoury Band at a local festival that she knew what her true calling was, bluegrass music. So she packed up and headed south-east, that is, the rest so they say is history.
Her first recording, LITTLE MAGGIE MAE, features original songs such as the title cut and covers of lesser known bluegrass gems such as "Cheap Whiskey" and Song for a Winter''s Night" and a cast of renowned musicians including Aaron Till, fiddle, guitar and mandolin; Richard Bailey, banjo; Andy Hall, dobro; Kathy Chiavola, harmony vocals; and Mike Bub, bass. With LITTLE MAGGIE MAE, Sadie Shaw has found her voice and is set to make her mark in the world of bluegrass music.
