"Once Upon A Star, is a fine blend of melodic metal and modern hardrock which with its twists and turns makes up a superb album. With excellent guitar work, soaring vocals and very interesting rhythm sections BLACKSMITH does this with style.
Per Englunds vocals make you think of Halford ( Judas Preist ) Geoff Tate ( Queensryche )and Ian Gillan ( Deep Purple )but still comes across as his own original style that he has developed since the mid 80´s. Englund has influenced other singers such as Michael Kiske ( Helloween ) as he stated in an early interview after the 1984 BLACKSMITH release of "GYPSY QUEEN". Bobbys Ho´s fine guitar work comes across between Andy La Rocque (King Diamond), John Norum (Europe), with hints of Yngwie Malmsteen, while ackomplished ( former Attack bandmember ) Phil Lindstrom makes an very heavy statement playing the 6 str distorted bass. You can see why the likes of Dream Evil and Firewind have some similarities. Once Upon A Star is a fine album which takes you back to the mid 80’s and the 90’s. This is the way melodic METAL should be made. A masterpiece!"

"Produced and recorded at Mezzaluna Music´s CRIMELAB Studios by Producer/Guitarist Virtuoso Bobby Ho, ''Once Upon A Star'' is an Epic Album of lyrical and melodic genius from famed Swedish Heavy Metal Band Blacksmith. Extistential themes, combined with ''Dirty Speed'' complete this cd as a ''must have'' for the Metal Officianato''s collection. Classic Metal ''Speed Riffs'' and GREAT vocal work together with the pulsing drive of fast and sexy drums, all in the context of well written songs, gives Blacksmith it''s signature style that the fans adore and crave. . Mixed by Bobby Ho and Fredrik Thordendal (Guitarplayer in Meshuggah- TOONTRACK/ Drumkit from Hell) who also performed and produced the drums. "It''s pure power and pure passion" says an American fan. Blacksmith''s fan base is world wide, as their dark and brooding themes are played out in a textured, gritty, and hard guitar driven leads. The vocals are shocking as Per Englund sings from a ripping place in his soul on songs like ''Last In Line'' and ''Blow it up'' with his high pitched and powerful voice. ''Once Upon A Star'' will be available once again as Blacksmith is releasing it due to popular demand.

"One of my absolut favorite albums ! When you listen to "ONCE UPON A STAR" the second and third time you understand that
this recording has cost both blood, sweat and many tears.. Fantastic singing from Per Englund and blinding guitars from Bobby Holmberg
who has proven that he is not only a good songwriter but an accomplished guitar player."
