About the Project
The music and lyrics in this album are designed to reconnect children to nature, create a sense of awe for the environment and teach them about the concept of biomimicry. Educators have long called for more creative and palatable approaches to raising awareness about environmental problems. Given the reality of the current ecological crisis, it is challenging to develop the emotional connection to the natural world that creates caring without instilling fear or hopelessness. Today’s children need positive solutions and realistic tools, such as biomimicry, to address the environmental challenges that they will grow up with, and this album will help to inspire and motivate them to make a difference. The album can be used as an educational tool in both formal and non-formal educational settings. Curricula accompanying each song is available on our website

What is Biomimicry?
Biomimicry is the process of learning from and then emulating Nature’s genius to create more sustainable designs. It’s studying a leaf to invent a better solar cell or studying an electric eel to make a better battery. “Biomimicry introduces an era based not on what we can extract from the natural world, but what we can learn from it.” Janine Benyus, author Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature.

The Biomimicry Institute:
The Biomimicry Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and growing the global community of people learning from, emulating, and conserving life’s genius to create a healthier and more sustainable planet. Biomimicry’s rapid adoption and advancement are imperative over the next decade.
