Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, Raw Dog is a musical project that started off as a four-track recording experiment. Since 2006, the music has evolved into a bizarre mixture of the electronica, country, heavy metal, and psychedelic genres.
The band was started by founding members BIG D and MK5, also of the Raleigh/Durham punk bands SIXTEEN SHOT CLIP/DEAD TO SOCIETY. They wanted to have a project for all of their non-punk rock ideas. Since then, they have been joined by ANA MONZON on vocals, and in October 2008, ILL BILL, also from DEAD TO SOCIETY, on bass guitar.
The group went into the studio in March of 2008 to record their debut album, Rabid. It was released in July of that same year. Since then, it has been bewildering and pleasing audiences everywhere.
