Pochi sanno che con la fisarmonica, Placido Riccadonna, si era conquistato una posizione di stima e considerazione nel campo musicale. Riviste e giornali lo nominavano, âSorrisi e Canzoniâ, âL''Arena di Veronaâ, âMilano seraâ, l''enciclopedia della canzone con titoli âPlacido Riccadonna maestro del tangoâ. Era nato a Vienna il 24 dicembre 1910. Poi era tornato in Italia a 8 anni con la famiglia, originaria delle valli Giudicarie. Bambino, aveva mostrato una spiccata predilezione per la musica. Fu autodidatta, si preparò per gli esami di musica e conseguì il diploma di autore di musica e parole. Iniziò la sua carriera già a 16 anni con un orchestra da ballo, della quale divenne presto direttore. Nel frattempo si preparava a diventare maestro di fisarmonica. Fu uno dei primi a usare quella a tastiera invece che a bottoni. La musica fu una passione che non lo abbandonò mai. I suoi brani più belli sono nati di notte. Dedicatosi alla composizione a 22 anni si era specializzato in tanghi argentini, ne compose tantissimi, tra i quali: Buenos, Uragano, El tipico, Messican, Movido, Tangolito mio, Ritmando il tango, che lo hanno reso celebre in campo internazionale. Le sue opere sono tutte depositate alla Società Italiana Autori Editori (S.I.A.E.). La sua musica venne pubblicata e incisa in Spagna, Inghilterra, Germania, Svizzera, Argentina. Scrisse anche canzoni d''amore e questo estro lo seguì tutta la vita. Ora i figli tengono a far scoprire ai giovani un musicista del passato che con i suoi tanghi diceva âil tango argentino è più vivo che maiâ. È una delle espressioni musicali e di danza più seguite nel mondo, e tale rimarrà.

Placido Riccadonna and his accordion

Few people know that with his accordion Placido Riccadonna had won much acclaim and was held in high esteem in the world of music. His name appeared in magazines and newspapers including âSorrisi e Canzoniâ, âLâArena di Veronaâ, âMilano seraâ, which called him âSongsâ Encyclopaediaâ and dedicated to him headlines such as âPlacido Riccadonna maestro del tangoâ. Placido was born in Vienna on December 24, 1910. At the age of 8, he and his family, which was from the Giudicarie valleys, went back to Italy. As a child, he had shown a strong predilection for music. He prepared for the music exams as an autodidact and was awarded the degree of music composer and song writer. His career began at the early age of 16 with his joining a dance band, of which he soon became the conductor. In the meantime, he was training to become an accordion teacher. He was one of the first to use a keyboard rather than buttons. Music was a lifelong passion. His most beautiful tunes were composed at night. From the age of 22, he started devoting himself to composition. He especially wrote numerous Argentine tangos, such as, for instance, Buenos, Uragano, El tipico, Messican, Movido, Tangolito mio, Ritmando il tango, thanks to which he became internationally famous. All his compositions are registered at S.I.A.E. (Italian Publishers and Authors Association). His music has been recorded and published in Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, and Argentina. He also wrote love songs, the inspiration for which remained strong right to the end of his life. Nowadays, his sons are eager to make young people discover this musician of the past whose tangos expressed his belief that âthe Argentine tango is more vibrant than everâ. It is, and will always be, one of the most popular forms of musical and dance expression.
