For centuries, the works of William Shakespeare have inspired readers and influenced nations. In 1997, new life was brought to his great works. Commissioned to marry the personal interaction of the stage with the grandness and emotion of epic film making, 17 year old, Daniel Thompson composed the music for the stage production of Macbeth.
In 2000, Thompson did it again with Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” As sorrow, madness and rage engulfed Hamlet and Ophelia, the audience became entrapped by the subtle undertones of Thompson’s orchestral expressions of their inner turmoil.
In 2004, Thompson’s music gained a new honor as the stage production of King Lear was performed in the Globe Theatre at Southern Utah University’s Shakespearean Festival.

ABOUT THE COMPOSER
Respected in the entertainment industry for his music and recordings, Daniel Thompson is the winner of Best Original Musical at Final Cut Film Festival for 2001. He has also received national recognition for his musical composition The Seer.
Thompson has composed and arranged music for several theatrical productions, including Nunsense, Macbeth, Hamlet, and King Lear. He has also composed music for numerous corporations including Coldwell Banker, Sorenson Media, and Synergy Worldwide.
In 1996, Thompson was backed by a 50 piece orchestra as he performed several pieces of his music in concert. His music has also played on the radio, television and internet.
Daniel Thompson was born in Utah and has lived there the majority of his life. He spent two years living in Romania, where he received much of his inspiration for his musical compositions. He attended Brigham Young University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Sound Recording. His musical abilities range from playing the piano, drums, percussion, and little guitar to composing, arranging, recording and producing.
