Bob Pettegrew, regionally (New England) well-known pianist, has released his new CD, "Very Mellow Piano". This collection of musical standards from the ‘30s and ‘40s is performed on a concert grand piano, and is presented in a soft and classy style -- perfect for relaxing background music.
An accomplished pianist, Bob has studied with contemporary pianist Tommy Taylor in New York, Eugene Uman and Harvey Diamond at the Vermont Jazz Center, and with the late Tom Gallant, contemporary/jazz pianist and Music Department Chair at Exeter Academy, Exeter, NH.
Bob is known for his solo performances, vocal accompaniment, and small combos around New England. He also runs Piano’Scape—a unique piano camp for adults—held each summer in southern New Hampshire. In 2005, the nationally renowned Peterborough Players requested an hour-long medley of songs performed by Bob in his traditional swing/stride piano style, to be used as background music during a performance depicting a high society cocktail party in New York City. Frequent requests for that soundtrack have prompted the production of this CD.
Bob resides in Hancock, NH, with his wife Hope. In addition to his musical interests, Bob is a management consultant and voice-over artist. He has recorded TV and radio commercials, as well as educational, training, and industrial DVDs.
