Details:
1981. Moved to London. Joined Soul Band the Giants and recorded with Ray Stiles from Pop band Mud.
1982. Signed deal with Magnet records and recorded single called "All people go mad", which was produced by Dale Griffin and Overend Watts of Mott the Hoople fame.
1983. Spent the year recording and giging and trawling around record companies.
1984. Formed band called "WORD OF MOUTH".Continued writing and recording.
https://www.tradebit.com band recorded a T.V. special for the I.T.V. network and I also worked with Soul band "HEART AND SOUL" which featured Tim Hinckley and Jerome Rimson from Van Morrisons band and Roger Chapmans https://www.tradebit.com opened for Ray Charles at the Royal Festival Hall.
1986/https://www.tradebit.comked with Snowy White of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters fame, recorded with Pino Palladino, then of Paul Youings band and currently the Who, we were signed by Renegade management who also looked after Paul Young, Alison Moyet and Donny Osmond. Recorded a video and continued giging regularly
1988/89. More gigs and a chance to join the John Slaughter blues band at the WOMAD festival.
1990/91. European tours with John and recording for his first https://www.tradebit.comally finished a long musical relationship with Gordon Reaney after 10 years and 100''s of gigs and recording, a cassete was released called "JOE JABS GREATEST HITS"(sic) after the then name of the band.
1992/1993. John Slaughter released his first c.d called "NEW COAT OF PAINT" on Timeless records. This was followed by an appearence at the Montreux jazz festival.
Continued giging and european tours follwed including a live radio broadcast from Holland.
Also in this period I formed my own Soul Band called "SOUL INTENTION" to perform the Soul music I have grown up with.
Featuring top horn players the band was a big hit on the function circuit.
1994/95. More work followed with my soul band and Johns blues band including a second c.d called ALL THAT STUFF AINT REAL" also on Timeless records. More European festivals followed including another appearence with Ray Charles. Also around this time I was to work with JETHRO TULL guitarist Martin Barre and FRANKIE MILLERS FULL HOUSE.
1996/97. My soul band was building up a good name on the circuit and Johns band reorded a session for the Paul Jones blues show on BBC Radio. Another sessin for German radio followed and also more work for the BBC, including me singing in a T.V movie called "SOUL SURVIVORS" featuring Isac Hayes, Antonio Fargas and Ian Mcshane.
1998/99. Was approached by Note-Music to do my first solo c.d ,"AINT NOTHIN DOIN".
Another session on the Paul Jones show and on various local radio stations followed and more gigs to, including a trip to tour Itlay.
2000/01. Recorded my second c.d called" REAL WORLD", the title track being written by producer Roger Cotten of Peter Green Splinter group fame. Appearences at various festivals followed and more radio coverage with an hour long special on "JAZZ F.M"
2002/03. More of the same but another tour of Italy and more festival gigs and radio play
2004/05 Recorded third c.d called "GOOD TO ME " and again appeared on national radio both in Britain and Europe.
