Born in Ascoli Piceno the 6th November 1990, Andrea Maria Ottavini started his musical activity since the age of 7 years old taking part to the Children''s choir "Piccole Voci" of the Elementary School Don Giussani in Monticelli. From 1998 he is part of the Choir "La Corolla" of Ascoli Piceno, conducted by Mario Giorgi, of which he''s still a component. From the age of 13 years old he starts studying piano. There are a lot of choral exhibitions: the first at the Teatro Ventidio Basso as soloist in the opera for choir and orchestra “Costruiremo una città” by Paul Hindemith. Other important exhibitions are: “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff at Teatro Ventidio Basso and the “Mass of Glory” by Pietro Mascagni at the cathedral of Ascoli Piceno in 1999, the first performance in Italy of the “Mass” by Leonard Bernstein at the Aula Nervi in Rome with the chorus and the orchestra of the music institute "https://www.tradebit.comilia" of Rome, broadcast worldwide on Rai 2, in 2000. Always in the same year the participation to the opera “Tosca” by Giacomo Puccini always at teatro Ventidio Basso. In 2001, performance of “Veni Sancte Spiritus” by https://www.tradebit.comart with the orchestra "Pro Arte Marche". In 2002, the participation as protagonist in the opera “Il Tamburino Magico” by Orlando Di piazza at the presence of the composer and in 2003 even in the opera “La Luna” by the same author. Always in 2002 the participation to the opera “La Boheme” by Puccini. In the most important performances there are in 2004 the “War Requiem” by Benjamin Britten with choir and orchestra of Timisoara (Romania), at Faenza, the international festival “Virgo Lauretana” at Loreto in 2005, the International Choral Festival “Alpe Adria” at Lignano Sabbiadoro and the Christmas Concer at Santeramo in Colle(BA) with the first performance of the "Antologia Rodari per coro di voci bianche e orchestra" by Teresa Procaccini in 2007. Always with his choir he gained important results in different national and international competitions:
1st at Malcesine in 2001 and in 2005
1st at Vittorio Veneto in 2004
1st at Istres (France) at the T.I.M.(International Music Tournament) in 2004
1st at Vasto in the 10th edition of the prize “Zimarino” in 2005
2nd at 53rd International Poliphonic Competition “Guido d’Arezzo” at Arezzo in 2005.
Gold at the International Christmas Festival of Prague in 2006.
Silver at the International Christmas Festival at Bratislava in 2007.
As pianist he took part at two national competitions gaining the following results:
1) National piano competition “Piccole Mani” of Perugia on April 2003: 2nd with 84/100
2) National piano competition “Giulio Rospigliosi” of Lamporecchio (PT) on April 2006: 3rd in the D Category with 85/100.
Always as pianist he supported the choir “La Corolla” in different occasions as the one of the International Christmas Festival of Prague in 2006, of the International Festival “Alpe Adria” and of the International Christmas Festival of Bratislava in 2007. As composer he''s self-teached and he starts writing at the age of 13 years old with the contemporary beginnig of piano studies. Usually writes for the piano solo, but there are even orchestral and choral compositions. Others are for solo instruments as violin, harpsichord and organ. As composer, in December 2007 wins the first prize in the music category of the National Competition “Natale” of Tremestieri Etneo(CT) with “Reverie: A Christmas Lullaby without words” op.70 n.1 for mixed choir at 3 parts. Now he''s living as student in Ascoli Piceno, attending to the 5th year of the Liceo Scientifico "https://www.tradebit.comini" and studying piano with Mario Giorgi.
