Details:
As a high school student, Michael was introduced to jazz by a CD of vibraphonist Milt Jackson with the Modern Jazz Quartet. Michael immediately became obsessed with the idea that such rich textures, energy, and adventures could be generated by only four musicians, and so began his diligent studies of jazz and the vibraphone. While at Berklee College of Music, Pinto studied for four years under vibraphonist Dave Samuels while continually traveling to New York City to study with Stefon Harris and Jason Moran. Since coming to New York, Michael has been performing as a leader and sideman in world class jazz venues such as the Village Vanguard, Birdland, Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola.
Prologue is Pinto’s initial foray into documenting his work on Inner Circle Music. “My ultimate goal is to combine my love of jazz, symphonic music, and science fiction stories into relatable works of art that fans of any of said themes can enjoy. And Prologue is but my first step,” says Pinto.
