Details:
R.D. FOSTER was born on a cotton farm near Farmersville, Texas, and grew up on COUNTRY and HOLY ROLLER GOSPEL music. He played in his first band at 15, a three piece acoustic FOLK group. At 18 he joined the Marines and served in Vietnam and came back full of ROCK and ROLL and the BLUES.
He formed a four piece band and began writing songs, not that NASHVILLE formula CRAP, but songs to fit the gigs, rowdy TEXAS HONKY TONKS. He was one of the original REBELS of the TEXAS MUSIC REVOLUTION of the late 70s and his songs could be heard on juke boxes around the country. R.D.''s songs have been recorded or performed by Legendary Texas Music stars such as BUGS HENDERSON, WILL BARNES, RAY WYLIE HUBBARD, DAVID ALLAN COE, and many others.
"A REGULAR SPINNING TOP" is ten of R.D. FOSTER''S original tunes and the CD contains some of the hottest players in Texas, Blues Guitarist BUGS HENDERSON, C&W session man and band leader, BRENT ROZELL, COUNTRY DONNIE MAC on bass, JAS STEPHENS of the SMOKIN JOE KUBEC BAND on drums, and R.D. on harp. "A REGULAR SPINNING TOP" by R.D. FOSTER is TEXAS HONKY TONK ROCK by some of the guys who invented it.
