Viola Karuri is a Kenyan-born, New York based vocalist. She started singing at an early age in school choral productions. While in high school, she and some friends formed a girl group called “Sobriety”. After completing high school, the group was signed to a record label and were in the process of recording an album when the group disbanded to allow for the members to attend University, and she got accepted into the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
In January 2001, Viola moved to Boston to pursue an education in Music. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in Music Production and Engineering, and a Concentration in Vocal Performance. She moved to New York in 2005.
This is her first album. It has been in the works for a year. It is a well-rounded production with a mixture of different genres. A little something for everyone!
