He studied violin under the great violinist R.P. Shastri. Vijayji received a doctorate from Banaras Hindu University. Vijayji''s playing is very passionate and
joyous and he sings with a nice folky voice. The Tabla player on the CD is the outstanding Ragunath Mishra from Mirzapur.
