Corpus christi-ite Renee Anderson has been studying and playing music her entire life and all that time and patience has certainly paid off. Anderson''s debut album, "New Releases", is a unique blend of soft rock, "Texas Music" flair, bohemian soul, and classic folk style, This combination of musical genres along with Anderson''s pristine vocals sets this album apart from the rest. Anderson has had music in her heart and soul from the moment she came into the world. Born in Seattle, Washington but raised in Arizona and Texas, she grew up surrounded by a family of artists and musicians. Her musician father and uncle, Bobby Hart of "Boyce and Hart" of the 1960''s and 70''s, best known for writing "Last Train to Clarksville" and "The Monkees Theme" were her first real influences and teachers. Other early favorites included Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Pasty Cline ,and Bob Dylan. Anderson''s lyrics reflect an early classic folk style and her melodies exude an original Texas sound. Although she had been involved with or played music her entire life, it was not until 2002 that Anderson began writing and playing her own songs. Inspired by her mother''s strength through life, she wrote "Rosie the Riveter". And the musical writing talent did not stop there, she then wrote "Near Sedona", "Center of My View", and Let it Go" (which are found on the album).
