Hey you spiritually puny Christian. Tired of living the life of a spiritual girly man, run down by the cares that beset you day and night, abused and maligned by those who think you''re a joke? Bottle fed like little baby girly men, for years on end by watered down light music, from the major labels that have no interest in your spiritual maturity, but only think of the bottom line so no one is offended. Does your spirituality end as soon as you drive off the church parking lot? This life is 120 years or less for some, what about eternity? Stephen knew how to cut to the heart with the Word. Grown men bit at him with their teeth like little children. How long will you be divided between two opinions? He said, "It is the Spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing, the words that I speak to you they are Spirit and Life."

Oh, quit your whining, crying and complaining! It''s so vain. Suck it up soldier! Quit being overcome and be an overcomer, so you can fervently and effectually kick some spiritual booty. These songs and lyrics are meat to edify you. Then you can battle effectively against principalities, powers of darkness, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Get your armor on!!!

If you want to take control of your life and be a winner then this album is for you. Full of the Word, the sword of the Spirit, building up the listener, not putting you to sleep, so that when your faith is put on trial you can stand strong and obtain the victory in patience and the Word. Remember the laborer is worthy of his hire.

Aren''t Those Lyrics a Little Strong?
They sure get people thinking! Our main message is to come while you can, thats now!.. today is the day of your salvation. Your soul! We''re bringing the message of God''s promise to the needs of men. We have that responsibilty.

Come While You Can
He said it is written
What more can you say
It can''t be diluted
Or reasoned away...

So come and receive Him
Bend,break and bow
And let Him reshape you
He''s callinng you now...

He said it is finished
What more can you say
It can''t be diluted
or reasoned away

Tell someone about Christ in a conversation. Struggle of wills? We don''t hunt for the souls of men! God reveals a choice in His Word. We sing of the joy and promises of that choice. As others have said with tears of joy in their eyes, "The music...it''s starting to speak to me, "

Jeff Ibach

Many prayers and God''s answer to them played a role in launching PROMISE. Certainly one was Jeff''s prayer, "I''m ready, Jesus,... to answer your call to minister in music." Another was the prayers of his parents, who planted and watered good seed in his life from the beginning. He began making music with guitars when he was eight years old, and music became his focal point. As he grew up in Wisconsin it only seemed natural to earn a living doing what he loved, so Jeff played the nightclubs. "I felt something was missing in my life. Eventually, I found out it was the love and favor of the Lord." Jeff left Wisconsin for Eugene,Oregon where he opened up an upholstery shop. He also planted the faith he grew up with and put his music under the dominion of Jesus Christ.

He played at his church, on music ministry tours with kids, in missions. " when you worship, the Lord fills you all up...you''re playing for the King of Kings!" As PROMISE came together, a flood of songs poured out in a few short months, and it became apparent that God was working something special. "We knew we were going to record the songs, but we didn''t know how,... as we wrote God began providing the way," said Jeff.

Kevin Lemieux

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Your music is Mine.", was one of the first things the Lord said to Kevin after he came to Christ. and that was just what Kevin wanted. But now he had a question. He had just been accepted to study at the Percussion Institute of Technology Should he go? "I took time to seek the Lord, and He gave the go-ahead," he said. Success in the one year program in Hollywood brings all sorts of offers...it''s kind of like a college football player placing high in the NFL draft. Could he "just play music and be a Christian," he wondered? The answer from God: "No. Do only Christian music. If you delight yourself in the Lord, He''ll give you the desires of your soul."

Kevin finished his one-year spiritual boot camp in Hollywood, "where it''s very serious living," and went back to Eugene to see what the Lord would do. The answer didn''t come right away. There was a wait of a year before PROMISE began to come together--long enough to test Kevin''s commitment!

John Adkins

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Some of my earliest memories are of making up songs for my mother, and singing and dancing for my brothers." John got a good dose of music as a Methodist choir boy. But later, he decided to find Christ outside of the church walls. As a Musician "I was brought to the point where I had to make a decision." He chose Christ. He keeps his faith "very real and personal." Like a first love. That holds for his music as well. "Playing music is a spiritual experience. When things are going really well musically, it has a different feeling...you fell God''s pleasure." His friendship with Jeff Ibach began in 1980. "Our paths crossed, we went our separate ways, but we always stayed in touch. Half of our friendship was over thousands of miles. that''s unique in my life. I just see it as God''s hand." John moved out to the Midwest, then moved back to Oregon. John and Jeff played country folk and gospel together. John also led worship in a church for a season, and loves the exuberance of gospel concerts. " To have the place on thier feet, everybody having a blast...Nothing like it!"

Joan Caldwell

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You"ll most likely not see Joan perform with PROMISE, but you''ll hear her words in every song. Her career as a Nashville lyricist took off in the mid-70''s. She had more than 10 songs in the Country and Gospel Top 20 charts. Two of the biggest hits, "He Came Back" and "Traces of Life" both #1 for weekshad the Christian values that she grew up with. "My mother didn''t read us fairy tales for entertainment, she read us the Bible," said Joan. While visting her parents in Idaho, she recieved notice that she had been nominated for a Grammy. But during her visit, her jaw was smashed in an accident. She struggled through seven years of intense pain before a miraculous healing restored her physically.

Through it all, she came to see the Lord''s continual presence in her life. It took another miracle, months later, to restore her writing. "The Lord told me to write a song...I had to pause, pray, and ask Him for each line." It was another four years before Joan and Jeff and the rest of Promise finally connected. The greatest part of all this is that...God has brought us all together, and none of us can take any credit for this. It''s all to His Glory."

Late 80''s

Joan Caldwell, a gifted lyricist meets Jeff Ibach in a business context, and they discover their shared interest in music. Nothing developes musically and they lose touch with one another for years.

August 1990

Joan felt that attending a Mario Murillo/Jeff Fenholt meeting in Portland, Oregon was extremely important. Unable to attend herself, she asked her son Chris to go, "You''re to meet a man there, it''s important!" Jeff was also there. At the end of the meeting Mario said, "If you''ve been expecting a miracle, receive it now." Jeff prayed, "I''m ready, Jesus. Use me in music!" Moments later as he exited the coliseum, Chris''s wife spotted him in the crowd quickly passing by, "We hadn''t seen Jeff for years so I prayed on the spot with my wife, asking the Lord if I should call out to him making our presence known. I heard yes, as did my wife! And doing so Jeff was so excited and un-contained the crowd couldn''t help but notice.", said Chris. Joan and Jeff started writing songs. "Back when I played in nightclubs, I could never write a song." said Jeff. That changed dramatically. Joan would write the songs lyrics, and Jeff would lay out the music. Some songs were composed on the spot when they met, some came from hundreds of of lyrics Joan had written over the years. "When a song starts to come to me, I get all excited and make a little gasp." says Joan. " the first time it scared Jeff. He thought something was wrong. After a while he caught on, and when I would start up, he would say, ''Joan''s got another one!''" Jeff was in awe of the whole process. " The songs came so fast. She could barely keep up with the flow!"

"I''m talking to friends after a concert," said Kevin Lemieux. "I see Jeff---whom I''ve never met---off in the distance waiting to talk to me. I introduce myself and he says, ''I''m Jeff Ibach.'' Jeff Ibach! Nearly three years before as a brand new Christian, I had heard a tape of his and thought, ''I really like this guy''s voice, I''d like a chance to play with him.''" They got to talking, and found what they had in common. "Later I asked him. ''Why did you come up to me, Jeff''?" Jeff''s answer: "I thought you were one of the ushers. I wanted to put some money in the basket!"

Soon after Jeff recruited John Adkins, a long time friend. Together they had played in night clubs, left that scene, played country folk, then ministered in music. Now, with the explosion of new material they began to plan their first CD, "Come While You Can".

After months of practice and planning Billy Barnett---Gung Ho Studio in Eugene, Oregon---began producing the first Promise CD "Come While You Can" By the end of 1991 Promise began recording their second CD, "Believe Beloved, In the Image of Christ"--released mid 1992. Currently after thousands of hours of radio play across the country, three years of concerts and promotions, and many hours of song creation, Promise will be releasing a single and another CD. "There is so much new material it''s difficult to decide what to include in the next release." said Jeff. "It''s time."

To Present

2004 Promise is presently doing concerts and prison ministry, Jeff Ibach is a Worship Leader with Calvary Chapels who is sponsoring Promise Concerts at various locations through out the world. A new release is in the works to be anounced. Jeff will be visiting various radio stations.
