Details:
Gestures is a collection of tunes I wrote over an extended period of time beginning with Faces in 1996, and ending with Balance, written in 2006. Many of these tunes have seen alternate forms, as I recorded some of them a couple of times before loosing all of them in the ‘great Barnes computer crash of 2006′.

The idea was to write a CD of tunes whose names would be based on visual art concepts. Originally I titled this CD ‘Sketches’, but decided to change it after experiencing Vince Mendoza’s excellent recording called ‘Sketches’.

In art a ‘gesture drawing’ is a type of sketch, so these tunes are all named after some double entendre related to drawing.

I rearranged them shortly after Revisionist History was completed. This recording was begun in April of 2008.
