Details:
"And the Day Begins" is a smooth jazz CD with touches of blues, pop, and swing. The CD offers 6 original compositions and 4 covers. Of the original compositions, the title track is the standout. As stated by the David Simone, the CD''s Assistant Producer and veteran musician/guitarist, "Worthy of a title track - this is the best piece in the collection. Structure of the song is very strong, each section is a step forward. The textures and colors created with this piece are very calming and uplifting at the same time. This is where you have put your best foot forward and kept it there. This piece is something to be proud of."

The CD''s opener, "Scat", speaks to my improvisational guitar style. A fellow guitarist once said upon hearing my improvisational playing that it sounded like I was "scatting on my guitar", so I adopted that style description. The other original compositions help provide a bit of diversification by adding some blues, pop and swing flavors.

The 4 cover songs are truly wonderful compositions that I personally love and am proud and thrilled to have recorded them. "Morning Rain/Rainbows" was composed and recorded by Ron Cooley. Ron is both a solo artist and a performing member of Mannheim Steamroller. "Coming Home" was written by Tim McCabe and recorded by his group Palomino Duck. "Dreamy" was composed and recorded by Hadley Hockensmith. Hadley is a member of Neil Diamond''s touring band. And, finally, "Let Me Into Your Heart" was written and recorded by Sam Riney. Sam is a top LA session musician. Again, being able to record these 4 songs was an honor and a pleasure, and I am very appreciative of each song''s composer for allowing me this opportunity.

I hope that you enjoy what you hear and go on to purchase a copy for your collection!

Thanks,
Keith
