Kathleen is a gifted pianist and composer who also sings and performs on all of the tracks. Growing up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, immersed in classical piano and the arts as a child, Kathleen started performing early, and was a featured musician in her teens. Her twenties were spent in Montreal, studying Jazz piano and composition, playing and singing constantly in clubs and evolving as a composer and performer, while immersing herself in the rich, cultural
and musical milieu of Montreal, where artists and musicians thrived.
Performing, writing and recording for years in both Montreal and Toronto, she is delighted to release her first full length studio album, which combines elements of musical influences, ranging from the Jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Monk, Billy Holiday, to Gershwin, Michel Legrand, Nina Simone, Dr. John, Joe Sample, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Sting, Steely Dan, Bruce Hornsby, Bonnie Raitt, Jamie Cullum, and many more.
These songs are lovely vignettes of life, longing, love, betrayal,
and self acceptance.
The complete lyrics are included in a beautiful 12 page CD booklet. Enjoy!
