The Chip Smith Project is a musical family from Milan, NH playing the songs of our Daddy, Chip Smith. He wrote the most beautiful songs! He worked so hard all his life that he never much got to play them for the people. He expired from The Cancer before his dreams came https://www.tradebit.comr house was always filled with his music, which fills our lives still.
Daddy loved everyone, and in return, everyone loved Daddy. Momma loved him so much she named all of her boy-children Chip. As if that wasn’t confusing enough, as we grew we came to learn that Daddy not only loved our Momma, he loved a LOT of other Mommas, too. All those other Mommas also named their boy-children Chip. We are searching and finding quite a passel of them, so to sort one from another we give them descriptives based on what they do or look like. So far we have met Wood Chip, Potato Chip, Chip Monk, Bone Chip, and Chocolate Chip. Apparently Daddy’s musical propensities were spread with his seed, as all the Chips seem to have quite a lot of talent.
Daddy’s brother, Uncle Smitty (who brought us together to make Daddy’s dreams come true) says the truth is what you believe in the Chip Smith family, and that all depends on what you know. Consequently we sometimes believe differently. When our differences get heated up we settle things with a candlepin match - the winner gets the microphone at performances to speak their own truth. So far, I (Daisy) have always been the winner, so I get to tell my version of the family history. If the cold day ever comes when I get beat by one of my brothers, well you might hear a different version.
(PS- Chipper dabbled in acting for a spell, playing the role of Billy Conway in the bands Morphine and Twinemen. Daisy did the same, playing Laurie Sargent in Twinemen and Orchestra Morphine with Uncle Smitty playing Evan Harriman. My brother CJ still plays the character John Holden in the NH band called Lunch At The Dump)
Fondly,
Daisy Smith
