Scott J. Brown was born Dec. 21, 1947, in Hillsdale, Michigan, U.S.A. He was harmonizing with his mother, Lovene - a church soloist, at age four. At age ten, Scott was offered a scholarship to attend Columbus Boy Choir summer camp at Princeton University. At age seventeen, he was leader of a band, The Tempests - chosen to be the opening act for the Beachboys at Portland''s Memorial Coliseum. At age twenty-five, he began a church-music career destined to span three decades. In 1982, Scott wrote and produced the song, "Columbia River Gorge", which received substantial air-play on Portland radio station KEX. In 1993, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music (emphasis: Voice) at Portland State University.
