An Afro-Caribbean band playing Konpa, one of the most popular genres of music from the island of Haiti, 1st Klass'' music is a reflection of their passion for Konpa music, love for Haiti, and life. 1st Klass plays a soulfully branded blend of Konpa infused with an array of musical styles with acoustic guitar, funk, and Caribbean rhythms.

Piwo, 1st Klass'' debut album, features nine new songs that are the triumphant result of an intergalactic cross-pollination of Konpa Direk, R&B, a little Zouk, and of course, some advanced aesthetic Konpa love.

Founded in 2006, 1st Klass has emerged as one of the most promising musicians to hit the Konpa stage.

From November 2007 to March 2008 the band played at several venues throughout New York. They also shared the stage with several Konpa headliners at the 2007 Musique En Folie,Haiti’s biggest music showcase for both young and established artists, performing in front of 10,000 music lovers. Most recently, in June, 1st Klass performed at Quisqueya El Hudson Music Festival (an event that seeks to foster Unity among Haitians and Dominicans) dazzling the audience with the foreign sound of Konpa Music.

Since the release of the debut album, 1st klass has received positive feedback from both fans and the media, including Haiti''s preeminent entertainment magazine, Ticket Magazine, https://www.tradebit.com, THN, Tele Eclaire, Visa Fm, Magic FM, and all the major radio stations playing 1st Klass'' music on the airwaves.

With a multi-faceted debut album, 1st Klass shows great promise since their breakthrough in New York and the group hopes to proceed in many directions to go far in its next endeavor.

We will keep touring and promoting the album in the upcoming months. We’ve been receiving live requests for Haiti, Dominican Republic, France, and Martinique. We hope to bring 1st Klass'' music to the Diaspora, igniting new venues with our talent, maybe catching the attention of the World of music with our sound,” said maestro James Lobertho.

Currently the group is comprised of James Lobertho Mireau (keyboard & composer), Paul Garry Borno ( Lead Singer), David Nelson (Guitars), Romial Jospeh ( Bass Guitars & backup vocals), Leon Leonel Anantua (Drums & percussion), Jouber Leon (African Congas) & Roudy the percussion. Rene Devis & Pierre Debrosse (Executive Producers and Manager).

Loberto, a former prodigy of the legendary Septentrional, is the bandleader and keyboard player. Lobertho is a very talented musician. He produced, composed, arranged, and sequenced the majority of the songs on this album. He has lent his musical talent to top Haitian artists, including Tantan Lakol (on tour and albums), Alan Cave, Phantoms, & Zenglen, among others.
