Note from Alan Garr -
Ryan Groulx and I are always writing songs; Lots of songs that seem to resist any one category or genre. For instance, just this year (2008) alone, we have collectively written around 40 songs; some very traditional in nature and some very off the wall. For those songs most traditional and straightforward, we always record under the name Leastways, mainly because these works are written and recorded in a bare bones or minimalist manner as the term, Leastways, implies.
The twelve country, folk, and rock songs on this CD were recorded live in three days at The Shed in Clayton, NC, save for some backing vocal overdubs, bass and extra percussion. We use no vocal pitch correction devices or digital "magic" and try to present the songs on tape as they would sound if you were to see us live at a coffee house or on a street corner somewhere.
We hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we did recording them and welcome your feedback at:

About Leastways - Leastways was originally formed in 2002 by Alan Garr and Ryan Groulx as an outlet to showcase original country, folk and rock songs written by the two.
Leastways has two CD''s, one released in 2003 titled, "Intemperance" which quickly went aluminum and then one just released this year (December, 2008) titled, "X".
Some highlights of the Leastways journey include:
*Alan and Ryan cancel two shows in Wilmington, NC in May 2004 after Alan is found unconscious in a motel bathroom in Durham, NC. Subsequently, Alan is hospitalized for four weeks with acute pancreatitis and pneumonia due to continued severe alcohol abuse. He then enters rehab at beautiful, Separation Acres, a center for the hopelessly addicted.
*With Alan Fresh out of rehab, The guys embark on a summer tour of 18 shows, of which 9 are canceled due to problems ranging from, "unacceptable fluorescent lighting in men''s room" to "wrong brand of club soda at venue" and my personal blanket favorite, "have a really bad feeling about this show" which was used as an excuse 4 times in one month.
*Leastways takes three year hiatus to try to "stop being so weird", and will finally start playing out again in https://www.tradebit.com''ll see how well all that goes...Stu Holtman (Band manager and drug keeper awayer).
